D'Overbroeck's College

D'Overbroeck's is a thriving college with a dedicated 6th form department located 10 minutes from the centre of Oxford. There are over 250 students, approximately half of whom are boarders and there are equal numbers of male/female students.

You can choose from over 35 A level subjects in any combination. All the traditional subjects are offered plus alternatives such as Business Studies, Classics, Communication and Culture, Computer Science, History of Art, Philosophy, Photography, Sociology and PE.

There is a very busy extra-curricular, enrichment, sport, social and activities programme, with over 25 activities to choose from each week. There are also plenty of visits and trips including an annual expedition (this year Iceland). The college organises regular speakers, workshops, and numerous events including an annual College production and student concerts.

Oxford is a great student city with plenty to see and do - cinemas, ice rink, sports facilities, cafes, museums, galleries and theatres. There are good travel links from all over the UK. d'Overbroeck's has quite an informal environment where you can be yourself but with a strong focus on academic success and a very positive and encouraging approach with excellent teachers. It is a happy, vibrant sixth form environment where students enjoy their studies and enjoy their success. The aim is to prepare students fully for the next stage of their career and beyond in a way which is engaging, interesting and enjoyable.

We were recently described as "a place of energy and laughter, of single-minded determination among students to do the best they can". We like this description which we feel captures both the vibrancy of the environment at d'Overbroeck's and the high level of achievement within it. Another student said "Best college ever, ever, ever. You wake up in the morning and want to go to school!"
