Lansdowne College was judged by Ofsted, in its latest inspection report published in January 2009, as “providing an outstanding quality of education” for it’s students.  The accolade of “outstanding” is one that the College is understandably very proud.

Lansdowne was founded in 1976 and is housed in a modern, spacious, building with excellent facilities, including a 200-seater hall, in a quiet residential road, one minute’s walk from Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.

The College is renowned for the warm, supportive atmosphere provided by our staff and students together.  Our students thrive on a mixture of expert tuition, hard work and pastoral care, and, as young adults, benefit from an environment that, while maintaining academic rigour and discipline, provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, in which students can thrive and are able to achieve their full potential.

At Lansdowne we offer all the subjects on the school curriculum and many others that are not. Teaching is in small groups for both A Level and GCSE students.  We have an expanding GCSE department, taking students from Year 10 and we also offer one-term and one-year A Level retake courses, alongside traditional A Level courses.

The College has an enviable academic record with the overwhelming majority of students taking places at their first-choice university, including Oxford and Cambridge.

Applications are accepted all-year round and admission is by interview and a reference from the applicant’s previous school.  The College operates a Scholarship and Bursary scheme which could lead to part remission of fees.  Initial enquiries should be directed to the Head of Admissions.
