Albemarle Independent College

Based in the heart of central London, Albemarle College is an independent college offering a broad range of GCSE and A-level programmes together with revision, retake and refresher courses. The college has built its outstanding reputation of excellent achievement and results through traditional teaching methods whilst concentrating on each student’s individual needs and skills.

Albemarle College offers students a broad range of subjects in Sciences, Computing, Mathematics, Business & Humanities, Languages, Arts and Literature. Class sizes at Albemarle are kept to an average of four to eight students, who benefit from an ongoing assessment programme by highly qualified tutors, ensuring students excel with motivation and confidence. Each student is assigned a personal tutor who will monitor their progress and provide the help and advice they may need throughout their time at Albemarle. Communication with parents and guardians on an informal basis is also important to the college with tutors on hand to discuss students progress, parent evenings both in the autumn and Spring as well as formal reports which are compiled every six weeks.

The College places a strong emphasis on information technology and students are encouraged to develop their IT skills with expert tuition and the facility of internet which is freely available.

Extra curriculum activities are available to students and include a wide range of sport and leisure activities provided by the college. Sports such as football, tennis, volleyball, basketball and swimming to name just a few are played weekly at a nearby sports centre where students can participate in competitions arranged with other schools. Students can also benefit from theatre trips, cultural trips within Europe and skiing during the Easter break.

The college is situated close to Hyde Park in Mayfair and within easy reach of London’s underground services providing students with rail and air links to other cities both in the UK and aboard. The British Library, The Science Museum, The Natural History Museum and The V&A Museum are just a few of the college’s local attractions as well as London’s famous landmarks, restaurants, architecture and lively social scene.
